ARJR Volunteer Information
A minimum of 12 (Ten) hours volunteer time per child is required throughout the season. You may choose to "Buy-Out" however the payment of $150.00 is required by the first practice.
A team Mom or Dad will be contacting you for volunteer hours.
The following are job descriptions for positions that need to be filled for our games: (volunteer hour times are per game, and are approximate!)
WEIGH MASTER: (Home and away games) (Approx. 1hr. volunteer time) The weigh master for our team weighs in the players for the opposing team before each game. This position requires a certification.
PAR: (Home and away games) (Approx.1-2 hrs. volunteer time) The object of PAR is to make sure all players get a minimum amount of playing time. Each team is required to track all of the players' plays. We need 2 (two) parents for each squad.
EQUIPMENT MANAGER: (Home and away games) (Approx. 1 hr. vol. time) Responsible for bringing the water and Gatorade for players. 1 (one) per squad.
1/2 TIME SNACK: (Home and away games) (Approx. 1 hr. vol. time) Responsible for bringing a cold fresh fruit snack for the players during halftime. Usually cut up oranges are the easiest for the kids to eat. 1 (one) needed per squad.
SCOREBOARD/TIMER: (Home games only) (Approx. 1.5 - 2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for running the electronic scoreboard during the game. 1 (one) needed per squad.
ANNOUNCER: (Home games only) (Approx. 1-2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for announcing plays, welcoming opposing team, keep announcing the score, etc. 1 (one) or 2 (two) needed per squad.
GAME DAY COORDINATOR/SET-UP AND TAKE DOWN: (Home games only) (Approx 1-2 hrs. vol. time, depending on number of volunteers) The coordinator makes sure that all volunteers are there and the positions are filled. 1 (one) needed per squad. (This can be the Team Mom/Dad, and/or they can work together to make sure all volunteers are there) Only the squads that play first and last do the set up and take down. Mighty Mites or Jr. Pee Wees will set up the field (cones, chalk, set up scoreboard, misc.) and the Midgets will take everything down.
CHAIN GANG: (Away games only) (Approx. 1-2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for helping move the markers down the field for each play. 3 (three) needed per squad.
GATE: (Home games only) (Approx. 1-2 hrs. vol. time) Responsible for being at the main gate and collecting the entrance fees. 2 (two) needed per squad.
